The chart below represents a sample of the top growing non-alcoholic trends in the Beverages & Drinks category in the US. Read on to learn how these could impact your business.

Growing Non-Alcoholic Beverages - Spate Data

The Spate POV

One thing about us at Spate: we’re versatile. While our platform is the best place to explore and analyze beauty trend data, we also offer insights into the food and beverage category, including the top non-alcoholic drinks in the US by year-over-year growth. It’s an ecosystem, after all. It’s safe to say today’s educated consumers who are concerned about what goes on to their skin are often also concerned about what goes into their bodies. Whether it’s the Toasted Vanilla Shaken Espresso , or an adaptogen drink, consumer’s are looking for non-alcoholic ways to get a good buzz.

Starbucks currently dominates the Toasted Vanilla Shaken Espresso trend, and related searches for oat milk alongside this drink indicate the growing desire for non-dairy alternatives (although, of course, asking a Gen Z'er to give up cheese is a tall order). In the personal care category, searches related to vanilla are up +11.6% YoY, +5.7% YoY in beauty, and +9.2% YoY in fragrance — it's a vanilla renaissance! As brands formulate new items, they should keep this trending ingredient in mind.

In second place, we have Adaptogen Drink, the plant based beverage that helps your body manage stress without the side effects. Searches for non-alcoholic beverages are up +8.5% YoY indicating some consumers are looking to swap the night cap with something that might actually make them feel better the next day. While this is a very low-volume trend, adaptogens receive 55.6K avg. monthly searches which are up +37.2% YoY. As more and more people are looking to lighten up on the alcohol (a la the rise in searches for non-alcoholic beverages), Brands should consider ways to celebrate without the hangover.

The trending beveraginos are closely tied to a brand or an ingredient — an indicator that CPG brands need to have a strong identity to stay top of mind for consumers. If you're feeling unsure about the most effective positioning for your brand, don't hesitate to book a meeting with a Spate expert today.
