WHAT'S TRENDING? THE TOP GROWING SKINCARE ACCESSORIES ON SEARCH IN THE US
Below are two of top growing skincare accessories on search in the US. Read on to learn how these could impact your business.
The Spate POV
Once you've nailed down a skincare routine that works for you, it's exciting to dive into the world of skincare accessories. After all, there are only so many moisturizers and serums you can buy. If you're a brand looking to enter the competitive skincare market, skincare accessories present a promising entry point. For brands that already offer skincare products, consider how an accessory could compliment them. Currently, two of the top-growing skincare accessories in US searches are the Kansa wand and pore spatula.
You may already be familiar with gua sha, the traditional Chinese healing technique that involves scraping the skin with a flat stone. However, gua sha has experienced a decline of -126.70% YoY, suggesting that the Kansa wand could be the next it-girl. The Kansa wand is an Ayurvedic tool specifically designed for facial use to reduce puffiness, soften the appearance of fine lines, and promote energy flow. Currently, there are zero market leaders in this category, but the Ayurvedic brand Ranavat offers a Kansa wand on their site, a strategic move given the +6.6% YoY growth in searches for Ayurvedic oil. Additionally, facial massage is on the rise, with a +7130.4% MoM increase in average weekly TikTok views, indicating the potential for creating viral content centered around the Kansa wand—everyone wants a Timothée Chalamet jawline after all.
Pore spatulas, also sometimes referred to as pore scrapers or vacuums, typically utilize ultrasonic waves to generate high-frequency vibrations that aid in loosening and removing impurities, dead skin cells, and excess oil from the skin's surface—essentially, it's a form of physical exfoliation. The pore spatula represents a relatively small volume trend, with an average of 600 monthly searches and no market leaders. The primary search queries include pore spatula, pore cleaner spatula, and pore spatula reviews, indicating that this trend is still being driven by consumer interest. It's clear that consumers are intrigued by the idea of minimizing their pores, as evidenced by the +22.8% YoY increase in pore strip searches, suggesting a strong desire among consumers to get all the gunk out of their pores in a satisfying way.
These tools aren't even the half of it. There's a tremendous amount of innovation in this space when it comes to new formats and technologies. If you want to discover what consumers are searching for, book a meeting with a Spate expert today.
